Choices

June 30, 2011

I took this picture last Friday as I was hiking; making my way  to the top of the mountain.  The view at the top was beautiful and rewarding.  Getting there required making choices.  The choice to get up early to meet my hiking group or sleep a little longer and miss the hike.  Continue and finish the hike to the top or cut it short and turn back.  Choices.  Every day we make lots of them.

Our choices can bring us to the heights of realizing our dreams or they can hold us back with regret in our heart.  Sometimes, it’s one very big choice that can completely alter our direction but, often it’s an accumulation of little choices that build upon each other carving out a pathway in our life.

God lets us know that making good choices is within our reach…

Deuteronomy 30: 11  Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

Deuteronomy 30:14 …the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

Deuteronomy 30:15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.

Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.

Believing God’s promises in our heart and keeping His truth on our lips helps us to make good choices for our path our life.

God made choices.  He chose to give us life.  Grace.  Love.  Freedom.  Hope.

Our choice is either to have faith in God’s gifts to us or to follow roads that can lead us down a path of destruction.

God encourages us to Choice Life and reminds us that it’s not too difficult or beyond our reach.
