Tuesday’s Tips ~ Living Healthy Tips

Ten Living Healthy Tips:

(1) Jillian Michaels:  Take your work out to the next level.  Change the ‘mode’ of your exercise.  Alternate different exercises.  Increase weight and/or intensity.

(2) Jon Benson: Drinking 16 oz of water before each meal helps to lose weight: (a) Increasing Thermogenesis – fat burning.  (b) Increasing hydration – less stress on liver = more fat burning.

(3) Stephanie Fit Mom in training:  Got 10 minutes?  Do a quick strength training.  Table top push ups and Tricep Dips – no wights needed. 

(4) Tony XBM Fitness:  On average 14-15 calories per day, per pound of body weight maintains weight.  8 calories per day, per pound of body weight to lose weight.

(5) Janice Fitness Cheerleader:  Choose exercises that you enjoy doing. You will be more inclined to stick with it and reach your goals.

(6)  Pete Cohen Weight Lose Guru:  “Shut up” the negative voice in your head… Replace it with a positive one.

(7) Dr. Lori Shemek:  Fiber is the low-calorie component to optimum health.  Fiber reduces appetite, lowers serum cholesterol, promotes regularity and helps detox our bodies.

(8) Coach Jenn Personal Fit Coach:  Strength training 2-3 times a week helps to lose fat and gain muscle.  Gaining muscle increases your ‘at rest’ metabolism.  For each pound of muscle you will burn 35-50 more calories. 

(9) Jillian Michaels:  Support your healthy lifestyle with three key relationships – A partner in crime, a role model and a fan.

(10) Note to myself:  Stay consistent and keep going!

    Great info… and advice. I get so frustrated seeing all these other people who are already fit at the gym and/ or the parks and lakes and then I remember – everyone started somewhere, right? For me, I don’t want to look back a year from now and say “I wish I had started back then” I want to say “Look how far I’ve come” You post reminded me of that 🙂 THANKS!
