Looking for the Way Out

February 20, 2010

1 Corinthians 10: 13   No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; But God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, But with the temptation will also make the way of escape, That you may be able to bear (endure) it.

Temptation is part of everyone’s life.  This verse reminds us that enduring temptation is to escape temptation.

God is faithful, He is not the one who tempts us… God is the one who has provided the way of escape.

The bigger the temptation the harder it is to find the escape. We can find ourselves saying, “It‘s just too hard. There doesn‘t seem to be a way out.”

God has already provided the way of escape, His name is Jesus.  The same victorious spirit that rose Jesus from the grave, lives in us.

Sometimes we wish a miraculous sign would suddenly appear that says, “Do Not Enter” or “Escape – This Way”   When all we need to look for is the miracle God has already given us in Jesus.

Stand firm in Him.  Knowing that we can accomplish all God has called us to through Him.

Simply call on the name of Jesus… He is our rock, our refuge, our escape from temptation.
